FOUNDER & HEAD COACH
Shauqie is a passionate coach and open water swimmer. He made his first solo swim across the Penang North Channel in 2006 before open water swimming was known in Malaysia. He entered the Malaysia Book of Records for being "The Youngest to Swim the Longest Distance" at the age of 15.
Shauqie aspires to be a great coach. He started MySwim 8 years ago with the dream of providing the best coaching. He is a Swim Smooth Certified Coach and was the first to bring the Swim Smooth coaching system to South East Asia.
His coaching philosophy is that there is no one-size-fits-all way of swimming – that coaching should be underpinned by a deep understanding of the mechanics of swimming and tailored to achieve the outcome for each individual. He hopes that through effective coaching, more Malaysians will be inspired to swim.
Shauqie runs the Triathlon Swim Squad, coaches Stroke Correction and Learn to Swim to adults and kids. He has coached internationally in Singapore, Jakarta, London and Perth.
