WATER TREADING IS A KEY SURVIVAL SKILL

Every human must know how to tread water as 70% of the world is covered in water. Especially for open water enthusiasts, it could save your life in tense situations, when you least expect it.

For your open water races, you MUST know how to water tread to:

- Save your own life! Keep calm, survive in an emergency situation until help arrives

- Keep afloat when you get cramps while swimming

- Find your direction in the open water

- Readjust your goggles

- Refuel with water or power gel

- For deep water starts - don't start the race exhausted from trying to keep afloat!

- Swim safely without a safety buoy for events that disallow its use

WE HAVE 2 LEVELS:

FOR BEGINNERS, you will learn basic water treading (sitting position) and how to float. The movements are simpler, less coordination is necessary and it is easy to learn. This is for those who are scared of the deep water and preparing to swim in the open water for the first time.

Entry requirements: Able to swim 25m breaststroke/freestyle

FOR INTERMEDIATE swimmers, the methods require high fitness in the water. You will learn the more advanced techniques (egg beater kick & frog kick) to keep your head above water at all times. It will enhance your water confidence and ability to face the elements in the open water.

Entry requirements: Able to swim 100m breaststroke/freestyle, confident in the water

We'll also be teaching self defense and other survival skills.
